yep... cooking oil works too as a replacement for diesel. It's mandated on many inland waterways.

The cops come down hard here on many of drivers who are over keen to "save the planet". Huge tax on fuel in the UK.

Large transformation or process losses.

Photons to simple molecules that can be converted to high energy liquid fuels. Or used in place as high energy chemical fuels. As you convert to a liquid at modest pressure hydrocarbon energy density sky rockets and storage and transportation cost plummet orders of magnitude.
