Yes, I have also read a lot about the history of how the old Vikings got themselves established in good old oyster country Normandy, made a deal with the French king to stay out of the rest of France against getting full approval for running their business in The Normandy - which they eventually expanded to the British Islands. Almost all of them being Danes, though.
Don't forget the Britain King Canute the Great, while original Danish with time he became more British than the Brits.
Ruling over Britain and Denmark, which at that time included Norway, a bit of Sweden and several large islands, he spent most of his life in Great Britain.
