If you are a political leader your private affairs could lead to security leaks and even national security issues that could put a nation in jeapordy.

Not if nobody cares what you do in your private life. As noted, a great many high-level politicians here have mistresses. Everyone is aware of this, and in political circles, at least, their identities are known. The press doesn't bother with it.
