Respond to of 1573718 Tenchu's Thoughts: Democracy Dies In Wokeness I'm going to try and keep this brief (yeah right), but this will be a recurring theme throughout all of my posts. "Democracy Dies In Wokeness." Let me be blunt: If anyone still thinks the Washington Post is a professional, unbiased newspaper whose very mission is essential to freedom and democracy, that person is a damned fool. I bring up two examples, both of which emerged just this week. The first one is rather comical, but it reveals just what kind of morons are employed at the WaPo: "Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, austere religious scholar at helm of Islamic State, dies at 48." I mean, really, you can't call this asshole for what he is, a terrorist? An Islamic extremist? A murderer, rapist, and genocidal maniac? And you also try and gloss over the fact that this asshole didn't die willingly, that he only committed suicide after being cornered by U.S. soldiers? Saying that he "died at 48" sounds like he died of natural causes. Of course, the Washington Post edited that headline shortly after it was published, but they only did that because of public backlash, which was swift and instant. The people who were responsible for coming up with that asinine headline are still employed by the Post, as far as we know, and they still believe in the very twisted logic that led to that headline in the first place. In other words, they only changed the headline because they don't want people to know who they really are. Here's the second example of the Washington Post being the very antithesis to freedom and democracy. It's their op-ed entitled "Why America needs a hate speech law": Holy crap, do they even realize who gets to decide what "hate speech" is? They probably think they will be the ones who decide. But Trump already proved that the Washington Post doesn't get to decide. The government gets to decide. Fortunately, the one thing that prevents the government from deciding is the First Amendment. But if it were up to the Washington Post, the First Amendment would only apply to them and their fellow left-wing "journalists." Everyone else would be subject to "hate speech" restrictions, from FOXNews to PragerU to even the Wall Street Journal. Now I believe the people at the Washington Post are nominally intelligent folks. They know history. They follow current events. They are well-read. They can name half of all the representatives in Congress. (I can't even do that without resorting to Google.) But these two examples above, along with so many other examples throughout recent history, convince me that the Washington Post is full of people who want CONTROL, not freedom . They want to control our thoughts. They want to control what is "real news" and what is "fake news." They want to control "hate speech." They want to be the business end of left-wing "tolerance." So when Trump says that the media is controlled by the left-wing establishment, he might have a point. Said establishment does not share our vision of freedom and individual rights for all citizens. Instead, said establishment is the very definition of "woke." They look everywhere and see racial and social injustice, even in the little things like our choice of words and what they call "microaggressions." And they have to DO SOMETHING about it. Hence they will use the power of the media to control us and force us to conform to their definition of "social justice." Freedom to them includes the freedom to be racists, sexist, and homophobic bigots. That cannot be tolerated because said racism, sexism, and homophobia leads to violence, mass shootings, sexual assault, and the huge gap between rich and poor. Therefore they will restrict the very scope of freedom to only include what they perceive to be permissible. Anything "woke" is permissible. Anything else is not. But to do that, they need CONTROL. That's why "Democracy Dies In Wokeness." Because it won't be "We The People" who get to decide. It will only be "We The Woke People." And I guarantee you that the "woke" make up a very tiny minority of Americans. But said "woke" folks control the media. Said "woke" minority are the ones who called al-Baghdadi an "austere religiious scholar." Said "woke" folks fear getting exposed, because they know that we Americans still love our freedoms and still know how to call a spade a spade. They can only expose themselves once America conforms to their vision of "social justice." And I guarantee you that their vision will be FAR from a democracy. Tenchusatsu
