Mindmeld, I would also like to add that a population that can think for itself and take responsibility for its own well-being is the key to making a classically liberal democracy work.

And notice the words "classically liberal." That's the philosophy that America was founded upon. That's the philosophy of "government of the people, by the people, for the people." It enforces individual rights and entrusts the population with freedom with faith that the people can figure out how to best govern themselves, rather than concentrating authority into a king or a central decision-making politburo.

The Democrats, of course, do not want people thinking for themselves.

They cannot trust the people with unrestricted free speech, because that leads to "hate speech."

They cannot trust people to defend themselves using firearms, because that leads to violent crime.

They cannot trust people with an unfettered free press, because that just opens the doors to Russian trolls, fake news, and fake memes.

And they cannot trust people to keep what they make, because that just leads to hoarding wealth by the few. People are selfish by nature, according to the Democrats, so we need an altruistic government to redistribute wealth.

That's exactly how the Russians help the Democrats. They play on their fears of individual responsibility. They convince the Dems that people cannot be trusted to figure out for themselves what is real and what is fake.

That's why "Democracy Dies In Darkness" advocates for a "hate speech" law. That's why the Dems are trying to force Mark Zuckerberg into censoring content on Facebook.

That's why people feel that they have no choice but to turn to Trump.
