Scott -

I understand and appreciate your response. I do agree that CORBA is the better solution on the server side, and I also agree that COM is much more widely used on the client side. Unlike you, though, I did get into a technical argument as to which is better (and with a non technical person, at that). My point is that right now, the inferior product has the upper hand (IMO), and that is because of MSFT. This example alone goes a long way to showing how market dominance by one company can adversely affect both the market and the technology.

I do agree that NSCP's COM implementation sucks, though. Perhaps now that they've got millions of free developers that will change, though, you think?
