Hmmm,

Your story isn't really all that different than mine. I have a dual boot set up for NT4.0, DOS and Linux (Tri-boot?). When I had NT3.51 I had terrible times finding drivers to work. I had no sound for a while (with a real sound blaster card, can't get any more standard than that), Proprietary CDROM didn't work. I called them and they said to buy a newer CDROM, which I did eventually. I used to do my word processing and then when it came time to print, I'd reboot into Windows 3.1 and print the stuff! But 2 years ago, people would say "What's windows NT?". Now that its more common, I have found drivers for all my "old/common" stuff, its just the new stuff that will only work with W95 for a while and then eventually NT. Those ZIP drives didn't work with NT until recently. I was really surprised when I bought my last video card a few months ago (just came out) that there were Linux drivers out on the web a little bit before the NT drivers, and those guys are doing it for free. Well, if enough of us asked for Linux support from manufacturers, we'd get it.
