This is what the news said:

''Powerwave is excited to formalize its relationship with Nokia and to begin supplying Nokia with amplifiers for the high-powered booster option for its GSM base stations,'' stated Bruce C. Edwards, president and chief executive officer of Powerwave Technologies. ''Powerwave has worked with Nokia on development efforts over the past year and we are excited to move into the production phase.''

So this is not new. PWAV has worked with Nokia for the past year in development and it's only now that the effort bears fruit and the contract is signed. The amps only go into the base stations but at least PWAV got a foot in the door with Nokia.

So that tells us that PWAV has worked on new relationships for at least a year before the Korean and Asian's snafu happens. My guess is that there may be other deals such like this that are still in development phase and someday the contracts will be announced.

Well, we now see more revenue coming in from Nokia the first quarter. So at least this new revenue will cancel out the effect of any canceled order from Korean companies if there is any. It is reported on the QCOM thread that Samsung is selling a lot of phones outside Korea, so the situation may not be as bad.
