Ameritech coverage is large if you include the analogue portion. PrimeCo covers from Green Bay down to Springfield at normal calling rates. I am sure the coverage is not seamless, but still substantial. I don't know the rates for Ameritech when you get away from Chicago, but PrimeCo certainly costs far less. Maps for coverage of both companies can be found at their websites. Ameritech would also have better roaming agreements. PrimeCo is working on that(map at website). An ideal situation(probably won't happen though) is if they had a roaming agreement with Sprint PCS.
