I have seen expressed no legitimate reason for pursuing him. All is see is vindictiveness, vindictiveness without regard for destroying the whistle-blower program, which is another institution under attack from Trump and company, who have been laying waste to them in massive plunder.

It is partly that for sure. If you don't want anyone challenging what you do, then sure, get rid of the whistleblower program. Or at least make everyone wary of actually using it.

But it is also just a way of distracting from what is going on. They are just setting up yet another straw man. It is what they do. It is OK to say pretty much anything as long as it distracts from the legitimate facts that are being laid out about Trump trying to strongarm the Ukrainians and others into investigating Biden.

And of course even that is a distraction from the other main point--that the Russians are interfering in our elections on the side of Trump. And what that relationship is all about, which is the really significant thing, IMHO. Trump has managed to alienate our traditional alliances that opposed Russia and disrupt the global economy and here we are talking about ... Ukraine and whether Biden corruptly got their top prosecutor fired four years ago in order to help his son.
