Yes you are right. In fact you are probably exactly right about pre-paid advertising, where else does AMZN spend money?

BTW - I don't consider this to be a deceptive accounting practice.

R.D., I'm not an accountant, but to defer prepaid expenses sounds ridiclious, especially since the prepaid expense is actually an asset.

The deferred charge CAN be for a tangible asset, such as new construction, equipment, etc.

Just trying to understand the crazy accountants..
