Yes. But they may also choose to spend the money on a bigger monitor, or a 56k modem, some CD-Rom games, several cases of Bud, or not spend it at all. Bear in mind that buyers of these <$1000 systems are generally not power users. These computers ship with at least 2 Gig hard drives. These drives won't be filled up for years by casual users. No need for external storage. Not trying to be a bummer on a bummer day, just some realistic observations. Have a good day.
