The article is based on the false assumption that the only reason a person runs for office is to win regardless of the cost. Dems lost a lot of elections doing the right things such as raising taxes and balancing the budget, passing the ACA and stopping preexisting condition bans, bailing out and regulating the banks to stop another collapse and fix one that was under way, pushing for gay rights etc. None of these things were popular but all of them were the right thing to do. Republicans never do the right thing and that's the real issue.
