<<Most D's are not air-heads.>>

Did you ever suspect how far they would go regarding immigration? Decriminalizing unlawful border crossings, abolishing ICE, some who even want to jump right to open borders.

<<He has disparaged our institutions utterly>>

How so and which ones? Don't you realize yet that everything Trump says is described by the media as a "rant" and usually an "angry rant"?

<<The other is this unitary president attitude promoted by Barr and Trump. His contempt for Congress singularly exacerbates the checks and balances problem.>>

What exactly is a unitary attitude? Examples?

As for Congress, let me remind you that Trump from day one had an uphill battle. All of the Democrat congress and half of the Republican viewed his very election as illegitimate. Not his policies per se, but the election itself. That notion of illegitimacy has never left the Left. It's the foundation of the Resistance.

On the other side, Congressional Republicans were either resistant or slow to get behind Trump's signature proposals. The first being securing the border and rewriting immigration law. The second being efforts to stop the cavalier shipping of jobs overseas and instead building up onshore manufacturing. We know what Dems want re immigration and they appear to be MIA on Trump's desire to preserve good paying jobs.

All presidents chafe under the constraints set by Congress inc. our system of checks and balances. Obama complained about all the things Trump has but he did it with more decorum plus he had the media on his side. What Obama did about those constraints, though, was a constant flow of executive orders.

<<The wild conspiracy theories>>

Like what? That the Russian investigation was a hoax or that a silent coup has taken place from the day Trump took office? We don't know yet what will be contained in the coming reports, but when it comes I hope you and I will again discuss what 'shaking the foundations of Democracy' looks like.
