One of the problems with corporate taxation, IMO, is that it is almost necessary to have different rules for different businesses because of the notion of "wherewithal to pay". In essence, tax liability usually accrues at the time ultimate liquidity is generated. As a result, the regulations are just all over the place. If you're in the oil business, it is one thing, the software business something else, etc.

I think it is an economic nightmare.
