Just curious if you have experience with Linux since it has similarities with Mackintosh.

J.F. and Josh. Thanks. My plans are to try get my son to go this route for his next Mac. I am not sure how hardware/ software savvy he is anymore? I don’t see often enough. So I asked him if he has any good friends with the skills. HACKINTOSH require a bit of tweaking with drivers to work properly. The benefit is often the PC world is faster to upgrade and support new devices than is the Mac word.

I'd love to hear about the experiences of anyone using them to run macOS
As would I. I have zero experience setting up a PC to run like a MacBook Pro nor any idea what the computing experience would be like. I wouldn't want a dual boot setup.

Is it a case of "hardware is hardware" or is there more to it than that?
