I am not convinced the Mac Pro is overpriced. I've read articles supporting the pricing given the extreme hardware features it has.

Professional rendering workstations for TV and film studios, for example, can run into the tens of thousands of dollars, up to $100K for high end rigs.

We'll see once it ships, but until I see a true "apples to apples" (no pun intended) comparison between the new Mac Pro and some exactly comparable on the Wintel side showing Apple's offering being way overpriced, I'll hold out hope Apple has made a world class machine without truly gouging with the pricing.

The $1,000 monitor stand, though, that's ridiculous.
