Has anyone else noticed how very long and often very boring many multi seasons cable and network shows have become.

It's not as recent as we think. The wife and I did a re-binge (is that a word?) on Twin Peaks earlier this month. The last 20 episodes (not the 25 year later remake) were mostly filler and side stories that never went anywhere.

We're undecided on signing up for Showtime for a month to download the remake of 25 years later.

It's really very simple to explain, today's Hollywood screenwriters lack talent, it's a closed circle of whose nephew or son gets the job, nothing more than that, and as long as people continue to watch that crap and sponsors buy their overpriced ad spots, then nothing will change...

> Has anyone else noticed how very long and often very boring many multi seasons cable and network shows have become. The so called “binge worthy” programs. It is nice to see these programs having time to develop characters and plots but when they are too long, which most are these days, it is hard to keep the story interesting.

That depends. How many episodes in a season is too many? Breaking Bad is considered to be one of the greatest TV dramas ever produced and has six seasons. The Wire, another great drama, has just as many.
