Bernie would have beaten Trump in 2016, IMO, and could beat him in 2020, IMO. Had Jeb been the nominee I would have voted for Bernie. If it had been Trump vs Bernie I still might have. Back then I never would have guessed that Trump would turn out to be great. Then it would have been one wing nut or the other wing nut and I have a visceral distaste for the political elite of both parties. Now the dems have so be clowned themselves that none of them can win.

You need to pay attention to rural voters in your neck of the woods in Eugene. The redneck logger crowd. They have their hands out for all the goodies Dems vote to give them, yet they vote solidly Rep. The Dems tell them they are stupid uneducated people who are destroying the environment, and their Pastors tell them the Dems are of the Devil, as are all those wicked scientists who tell them AGW is happening, and the Lord wants them to vote for Trump. They vote for Trump.
