Speaking of cats ... Why does no one object to cats roaming freely?

I have always encouraged my dogs to keep the neighbourhood cats out of my backyard as I have bird feeders which many cats confuse with "lunch being served on a silver platter".

Some years ago one of my dogs killed a neighbour's cat in my backyard. The idiot actually called the police and Animal Control trying to get them to charge me with something. Neither entity took up his cause. He now has indoor cats :-)
