Interesting Thread.

Personally, given what we know about Clinton's past behavior (he's finally admitted having sex with G. Flowers) I think this looks pretty
bad for him. It wouldn't suprise me if it's true.

He's admitted giving "Monica" gifts, including a dress.

I asked my wife last night what she would do if I gave another
woman a dress. She said she'd kill me.

Innocent?

seems unlikely

I am not being naive: just trying ot fend off rush and overly-emotional reaction to ALLEGATIONS.
And believe me I DID NOT LIKE CHINAGATE. I do think that, that was due more to ignorance and inexperience that caused by intent. Which is not to excuse Clinton's administration from responsibilities, but at least "I understand"...

Clinton is called "slick" because of his tendencies to "adjust" :-) his stance on issues. But you know what - that is exactly the one thing I like about this public servant: if he senses that public preferences shift, he does not stubbornly continue to persue HIS agenda - he adjusts it to fit the electorate's evolved stance on issues. He is not affraid to join the opposition if that's what the public desires. In my book that is a good, flexible, thoughtful public servant and what a politician should be 95% of the time).

as to Gore - IMHO he exemplifies the best of Clinton, without the vices :-) ( may just be a bit to liberal)

This weeks big winner: Elizabeth Dole.

She would be a shoo-in in the year 2000. People will be so fed up with sex scandals and conclude that electing a woman is the only way to deal with the problem. She is much more centrist than Gore and would be virtually unassailable. The soccer moms who voted for Clinton would vote for Libby.

But of course this would involve the GOP being clever and forward thinking, rather than static and ceremonial and self destructive so Im not holding my breath.
