You are quite right. The observations you make are astute and realistic. I guess I am looking for a hpeace for the PAIR thread. Yes, I have noticed the action prior to news being relaesed, however it seems lately the response times have been abit muted, perhaps due to the recent tentative nature of many investors. This market appears to be characterized by the day trader philosophy of "never hold a stock overnight". In light of this observation,I am considering buying in the late afternoon sell off and then selling for ~1/2 point at the open. Recognizing the obvious risk of such an approach, I am planning on using equities which I believe have strong upside potential. Not sure if PAIR qualifies as such a stock, but this morning would have only been worth 7/16, therefore my limit sale for 1/2 a point would not have been filled. Maybe settle for 3/8 on 2000 shares, ie $750 pre-commission. Not a bad income supplement while working full time during the day. Speaking of which, time for a budget meeting, be back later.
