Bill Barr has a whole new problem Bill Palmer \| 12:01 pm EST November 14, 2019 Palmer Report » Analysis When the news recently leaked that Donald Trump had asked Attorney General Bill Barr to hold a press conference announcing Trump’s innocence in the Ukraine extortion scandal, and that Barr had refused to do it, the big question was which of the two of them had leaked it. Now we’re getting our answer – and let’s just say that it isn’t pretty for Barr. If Bill Barr had been the one to leak the story, it would have meant that he was trying to demonstrate his independence from Donald Trump, perhaps as something of an insurance policy for when Trump inevitably ends up going down. If Trump was the one who leaked it, then it meant Trump was pissed that Barr wasn’t willing to do it. When Bill Barr appeared at a law enforcement event in Tennessee yesterday, he was asked about the leaked story. The best answer Barr could come up with: “I don’t remember any such request.” Really? He doesn’t recall? Barr was clearly caught off guard by the question. That means he’s not the one who leaked the story, because if it had been him, he’d have a strategy in mind, and he’d have had a decent answer ready for the question. This means Donald Trump is the one who leaked that Bill Barr refused to hold a sham press conference. This in turn means that Trump leaked it because he was upset that Barr was not willing to do it. Barr has committed so many felonies in Trump’s name, Barr is guaranteed to spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement unless Trump pardons him. Yet now Trump appears to be pissed at Barr – which is something Barr can’t afford. Barr has literally bet his life on that pardon.
