An interesting question about a man who is perhaps the most, or in the future will be the most, infamous traitor in American history. Donald Trump has lived a charmed life where he has had almost all of his depraved wishes come to pass. The world has always existed only to provide Donald Trump with whatever lifestyle he desired. Whether that be the illusion of extreme wealth or the absolute dominance of all people who exist in his circle of acquaintances. He does not have friends, he has acolytes and sycophants. People serve him, not vice versa. As Trump has aged, his finances have undergone some questionable setbacks that has caused him to have to change his business model. He can no longer obtain financing for his business enterprises through conventional sources. His bankruptcies and lifestyles has caused Western financial institutions to withdraw their support. As a result Mr. Trump had a decision to make. He could face possible financial ruin or he could negotiate new methods of producing the revenue he needed. Russian oligarchs and banks saw an opportunity in Mr. Trump when he made the decision to run for President. Mr. Trump was frantically searching for new revenue sources. He introduced Trump University, Trump steaks, Trump Ties, and even reality TV shows . Mr. Trump even believed that if his political ambitions came to naught, he could use the fame his campaign engendered to start a cable news network. All desperate plans by a desperate man. His real estate empire was crumbling around him. His properties were overleveraged and his financial streams had dried up. With the aid of Russian oligarchs and Russian interference in the 2016 campaign, Trump surprised all pundits and won the election. It was a small investment for the Russians to make, but it had the ability to pay huge dividends. However, he now owed a huge debt. He had sold his soul and his country to an evil oligarchy that would demand payment in full. The U.S. would have to turn a blind eye to the Ukraine and the other old Soviet republics that Russia had their eyes on. He would have to slowly destabilize NATO and any of the other Western alliances that were a danger to Russia. He would abandon the American allies in the Middle East and allow Russia and its allies to fill the void America left behind. He would destabilize American influence in Asia and allow China to assume a dominant military role . Trump is fulfilling his benefactors wishlist far beyond what they could have ever considered possible. He is the Manchurian candidate that no one thought possible, but he is here. It will soon become evident that the damage done may be to extreme to overcome. The American people are complicit in this tragedy. We have allowed greed, prejudice, and a sanctimonious attitude to make us vulnerable. We forgot those things that made us strong and surrendered to our basest instincts. All it took was a desperate conman to lead us down an irreversible path towards our own destruction. EDIT: I know I am taking a huge leap here, but I really believe that this is the endgame for Donald Trump. I hope i am wrong. Patrick Jones Very true. I truly hope that sooner or later people with honor will recognize what is happening and put an end to this treason. It only takes a moment to undo decades of good will. Elliot Bishop An excellent summary Patrick. When Putin backed Trump’s 2016 candidacy he could not have imagined in his wildest of dreams the largesse that was to follow. Its unthinkable that one man’s insatiable greed can destabilize the global power balance and shake the foundations of America’s democracy. Patrick Jones It really is hard to imagine. What is even harder to imagine is the Republican Party’s inability to recognize the threat Trump is posing to our national security. Elliot Bishop I’m sure they recognise it. Its just that personal power and wealth supersedes the national interest. I’d suggest that Murdock swims in the same cesspool as the GOP. Barbara Goode Oh, they recognize it all right; it’s just that they’re as corrupt as he is.
