Thanks for the recommendation on NCES. I'll look into it.

By the way, I uncovered those 500 shares of SMTC today. I'm totally long now. Made enough to pay for most of my wife's mountain bike. Calling my broker for a check right now. I know it's small potatoes in comparison to my total investment, but it's fun to play around with this options income without having to sell any of my highly valued SMTC shares.

Todd, thanks for your prompt QLGC thoughts. I agree with you about the extra cash being the primary puzzling feature of the stock. I hesitated too long--it's now at 31, so it's off the short-term watch list.

Appreiciated the NCES recommendation. It looks solid to me (tho I don't know the industry as well as I'd like), and would be great diversification. I think I'll see if I can't get in at 6 or better this week.
