gotta have a hobby you know. ROTFLMAO.. cheap or free (even better as Bob Furman says) I tend to keep things for catastrophe..not just food.. Our chalet in the Laurentians north of Montréal has electric heat (baseboard.. so on grid and a bit pricey even in Québec.. We have a propane fireplace for primary heat and a backup Honda 6500 watt gasoline generator with a nice sine wave output for additional backup.. The qtr Asian in me always has lots of rice on hand.. :).. big bags .. Vestige from my half Greek ex is that I like lentils and chick peas which have lots of protein and store a long long time :)) Blackie
