On a serious note... The numbers for AMAT are interesting? What you have are the largest shareholders... They SOLD 8,327,444 shares and PURCHASED 10,614,100 shares from September through December 1997. Yet at this time the stock went from $50 to $30? The short position went from 3 million in September to 13 million in December. So most of the large funds held and increased their position during the fall? Did they short the stock to protect themselves? I wonder what the MAJORITY of funds did? Comments...albeit short.... :-) Aloha
