Snowing here today. This will help color the only part of the country NOAA has listed as in drought from brown to green. I saw the map on Tony's Climate Science site today. Though we are going to need several repeats of this to get us caught up

Most folks assume California has also been in severe drought due to the fires they had out there. This is not the case...as best I can tell. The northern part north of the bay area where some of the worst occurred has actually had higher than normal rain. Wet falls and winters here on the plains can actually make spring fire season worse...lots of grass and brush grows up creating extra fuel.
