Canadian National Railway (CNR-T) The walkout by more than 3,000 CNR conductors and railyard workers is into its fourth day, eliciting a growing chorus of call of varying degrees for the government to do something about it. And there’s no end in sight, with the Teamsters union this morning saying there’s been “no substantive progress” on key issues. Our primary question today is how long the feds will limit their involvement to jawboning out of respect for the collective bargaining process before the economic consequences become so dire that back-to-work legislation is introduced.
