Respond to of 108906 Hi ISO, First of Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I guess the liberal left dimms will just call this ctrumbs: Home / Opinion / Guest Column / Warmington: Fracking is responsible for abundant, affordable energy Warmington: Fracking is responsible for abundant, affordable energyBy: Chad Warmington Guest Columnist November 1, 2019 2 Comments Chad Warmington Domestic oil and natural gas produced using hydraulic fracturing is responsible for saving American families an average of $2,500 every year due to lower energy costs. That’s according to a report released this week by the U.S. Council of Economic Advisors. The call from certain presidential candidates to ban this technology shows a clear lack of knowledge of the effects such legislation would have on families across the country. It is widely known that hydraulic fracturing and horizontal drilling have brought about a revolution in American energy development – enabling real energy security for the first time as the U.S. is now a net energy exporter. This unprecedented achievement could not have become reality if not for the combined technologies, which are used in practically every well drilled in the U.S. What is truly remarkable is that this energy independence has also resulted in real savings for American families, especially those on fixed incomes. The Council of Economic Advisers reports that lower energy prices due to the shale revolution save U.S. consumers $203 billion annually, or $2,500 for a family of four. Low-income households benefit the most from this savings because they spend a bigger portion of their income on electric and heating bills. Nearly half of American households rely on natural gas to heat their homes, with an annual cost of just $634. For a household living at the poverty level, the financial savings that come from natural gas can be life-changing. So why would political candidates known for championing the economically disadvantaged oppose American energy development? A ban on hydraulic fracturing would disproportionately hurt the most vulnerable members of society. Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas producers agree with Texas Rep. Chip Roy’s recent characterization of such proposals as a “massive violation of civil liberties that will … crush the American economy … undermining the very civil liberties of the Americans that depend on that affordable and available abundant energy.” A massive violation of civil liberties is all about what lefty liberals strive for - its called economic control. Vote the bums out!! Bob
