Kimberly, what a coincidence. I just got off steroids in September after being on high doses on and off for three years for a long term auto-immune problem. So I know what it feels like to have a burning furnace in your stomach, come home, go straight to the kitchen and tip the refrigerator in your mouth to save time, lol. I gained about 40 lbs and I'm only 5'2".

Losing weight while on steroids is more complex than simply losing weight but it can be done.

One of the biggest myths ever perpetuated on the American public (besides the trickle down theory) was a low fat, high carb diet. It's why we're so obese as a culture. In general, it's best to have a low carb, higher fat diet. For most people, not all. I'm not talking paleo here. Plus veggies, of course. Yuck.

I can make a few general weight loss supplement recommendations on Friday. I'll also call my former employer - a nutritionist - about the steroid aspect of it. I was in the vitamin and herb business for almost fifteen years. Even more than the weight, it's important to support your body while on the steroids and maybe address the situation just a bit that required the steroids. If you'd like I can make a few recommendations for that too.

If you would like a few recommendations for steroid support and want some privacy PM me. But I'm not sure if I can receive PM's on the free version.

Also, stay away from the web for vitamin info for right now. There used to be tons of good sites available, but not anymore. Sites like WebMd, The Spruce, LiveStrong, etc. are the only ones you can find and their information is mostly garbage for nutritional support.
