I think you are missing the big picture.

The big picture is that the people in Hong Kong are not voting for candidates, they are voting for a "cause".

And that will be the same thing here in 2020, they will be voting for a 'cause".

To get rid of Trump.

One of the big reasons Obama won was people were voting aginst Bush.

not the superficial claptrap... There is a far far bigger picture here than HK... most miss it.. most foreign (ex China) governments certainly do...

I thought the Hong Kong protests were going to end with Chinese troops being deployed and many killed, seems the Chinese leaders have learned a few lessons from the Tienanmen square disaster
