The Chinese communist party claims illusions of 'monopolies' of various types, few of which actually exist.

China maintains a stranglehold monopoly on all of the rain which falls on China, and an effective monopoly on the slave labor of China's citizens. China is also the leader in IP theft from other companies and nations around the world.

But other claimed monopolies on uranium, other metals and materials are all merely self-delusions created to fulfill a directive implemented by the late Deng Xiaoping. Maintaining illusions and pretenses have always been more important than reality in communist dictatorships.
