You my friend have some big ol' nads to short AMAT.......no way not me as that is my favorite one for an explosive 7+ on the upside in the whole market. Look at IOM --1 cent shy and they stomped the doodoo out of it.... LOOK at MU (shorted and covered 3 times today for 1 11/16 gain on 1k) ain't gonna make any earning for at least 6 months, and it was trying to go up all day. Crazy market. Shorting for me is a way to pick up some profit intraday after the morning run has ceased. I don't care to hold the "analyst favorite"
short over night, yyou do and do a good job at it. The normal flow of the market is for profits to be made on the up so I will try to live on longs longer term and shorts intraday for the most part.... Yall have a good weekend --- 2 good teams Sun so I don't have favorite.
*** I still think JCP is a long term short and will crash to 52. But I just can't hold one when puts are this cheap.

Pretty good day today
Bot TSRI open sold for 2 about 15 minutes later. Rebot 19 5/8, and still holding. This was a nice break of a long base, my favorite type of breakout. Closed strong, should gap, on that nice vol.
Yr 2000 stocks doing pretty well.

IBD mention monday also:
<<TSR gained 2 to a 52-week high of 21 on triple normal volume. The stock has surged 19% in the past two sessions after the company released its new Year 2000 compliance testing software.>>

Did well with KEA also, it's on my permanent watch list now as well.
Sold MDCO, lost 1 1/8.
flipped TGNT for 3/8.
bot SUMX open at 12. Like this chart and vol is picking up, in a good market this one would have been gone.

This market is making position trading tough so I am doing more scalping and breakout buys. They are working very well. While this market has no rhythm to it, certain sectors are doing very well. trading stocks in good sectors as I have mentioned before works well. Right now I find yr 2000 and wireless stocks to be acting well, also telecom service and computer service. My fav stock right now is ANDW, and it pulled back today on light vol. I will be on that one when the time is right, It needs to rest a bit after a huge move last week after blow out earnings.
I was a bit disgusted that I didnt do a short today I had on my list, CHKPF, it was only good for 6 or so.
Small stocks seem to be doing very well in selected sectors.

Hi Mark,

A belated Thank You for your APCO response regarding overhang. I
agree with Lizzrd that this could rally into earnings, "if the market lets
it". Question is, will the market, in it's current state of uncertainty,
allow anything to rise. Did Dr. Zeev make the call of a lifetime? The
broadening top formation on the Dow and S&P's is broadening out
even further with lower highs on each rally and a steadily accelerating
down trend line (second fan line of an accelerated down phase?). The pattern on the Dow suspiciously looks like a complex
H&S top. The Dow is currently resting on the 200DMA at around
7680. The rising bottoms line established from the Dec '94 bottom
was support for this October's mini meltdown to 6975. I would suspect
that if that support is taken out we would have a test of the neckline
at around 6400, IMHO. Measuring objectives from that point are
moot. Mark, your generous giving of your energy is welcome, as is,
my gratitude to the LizzrdKing for creating this thread.

Regards, danny
