The purpose of advertising is to sell product, not educate. If people were educated, they wouldn't buy IOM drives. Believe what you will, but I'd say IOM is very concerned about market share although today they would have you believe the removable drive market is weak. And the pull back to $2.50 in SYQT suggests they did a fair job of getting that message out.

However, we won't know if the market was weak for IOM or competition is heating up until Syquest reports next month. My guess, its a little bit of both.

If Syquest's drives are as good as everybody here at this help desk say they are, then feel sorry for IOM 'cuz all they are doing is pissing $100 million into the wind. In other words, their bottom line will get $100 million worse.

I'm out of here.
