My first reaction to that commercial was how believable it was.
This could really happen to someone who wasn't paying attention
or if the interpreter person was in the restroom. I feel that
I could identify with the character.

Cellphones are still something you press numbers and the <send>
key to most people. Qcom chose to go for brand recognition
rather than yet-another-commercial-on-phone-technology.

When people come back to the phone store whining about dropped
calls and cloning, then would be an appropriate time to get
long-winded on phone technology. Not when I'm drinking. B-)

Considering that this is the single largest event on the TV planet,
I agree with their judgement.

In the press releases, they discribed this commercial as a
guy holding up a phone on a balcony and people were cheering.
Kudos to Qcom, it is more mature than that.
