Jim, Compaq's reports don't include unit sales in that specific quarter. Compaq revenues grew by 12.3%. Unit sales grew high than that but I don't have the data.

Gateway gives unit data. This quarter was 850,000. Last quarter was 622,000 units. A 37% growth in unit sales sequentially. Now either they had a hell of a Christmas or the 3rd quarter was a real dog! Gateway had a 4% decline in ASP to $2326 from $2430.

Now based on incomplete data on Compaq and Gateway I have decided to try and split the goal post and call Dell's unit growth at 20%. I expect Dell's ASP to come in around $2550.

Revenues of $3.71 Billion and 340 million shares yields about .85/share without margins improving. However, margins should improve taking earnings to around .90/share.

Your thoughts?
