I knew about the cave, just wondered why you thought I was in it. I don't think it is possible to experience the reality of ideals (or Plato's pure forms, if you will), only what might be in furtherence of an ideal. I don't believe ideals exist in reality. Knowledge is also belief, for we know what we know because we believe we know it. I don't think there is any way to prove what we know, internally, or externally outside of our own human contructs. So you may just be in an even greater cavern, a cavern so great that you think you are in the brilliant light. I personally think we are dealing with hardware and sofware in the human, and our hardware (please no Clinton jokes here)will forever limit us.

jim:

I think you should forget poor, mislead Plato and turn instead to Aristotle. Remember, the "Dark Ages' were lead by Plato, the Renaissance by the re-discovery of Aristotle.
