Roger,
CUNO is an industrial company with leading edge products and pretty good earnings in the past. Boston Chicken is a company in trouble that is cancelling a lot of contracts with suppliers and they may not survive. CUNO has been working on a major contract with BOST and it got cancelled. CUNO reports earnings at the end of the month and they will be taking a huge charge because of the BOST contract. Technical analysis shows a nice down trend in process and earnings surprises have been destroying stock prices in the current market frame of mind. The market hasn't adjusted the stock price to the earnings charge so it makes CUNO a good short candidate. This isn't DRY that keeps hitting new highs, its not AMZN that will squeeze you for two years, its a good opportunity now. Good size outstanding and big float makes it easy to borrow shares. No big fund involvment but several small positions of less than five percent. This isn't a long term hold by any means rather a short term play based on predicted earnings. No pre-announcment or warning has been made. I am looking for a substantial pull back under ten from the current 15 1/2 area.
