AR are from historic sales, not pending or unreported sales.
Lockhart. Thanks for clarifying this for me. AR is money customers owe, the money not yet collected for a past sale. Most reputable cos. don't account for this in the reported rev. but as AR. I should have mentioned "deferred revenue going forward as partially indicated by AR". Actually, there were quite a few contracts and impending sales late in the qtr., the co. chose not to report as either rev. or AR
but deferred them knowing that it already made the cut-off rev. Had push come to shove, the co. could have sent the equipments and booked as rev. (if customers paid for) or AR.

We might want to simplify this by stating A/R is a acronym for Accounts Receivables.
