Thanks Brad. I'll just wait until AOL fixes it. No big deal. I had already disabled the pop-up feature, and the "new message" feature works just fine even if it doesn't display in the best color.

Congratulations to you guys on a fine piece of work. I'm spending more time on SI than I care to calculate.

Brad,

A while back you guys implemented a grey background instead of the white. It made reading the posts easier on my eyes. Then it went back to white. Jill responded to my e-mail stating that some people complained about the grey - how about letting the user choose via the options screen?

PS - I really enjoy this site, keep up the good work...

Brad,

I wanted to know your opinion on the use of NICKNAMES in chat groups. I have almost 10 years of On-line/NET/BBS experience. From my experience nicknames & handles are the norm in chat groups an have been since the beginning.

The thing that is bugging me, is the ignorance of the media regarding the use of nicknames. I have read newspaper articles about the use of nicknames in chat groups as if there was something sinister about it. I think the reporters that write these articles and people are new to the NET don't realize that the nickname/handle seems to be an off take from the CB Radio era.

If they have been computer/chat group users for a number of years, I don't think they would be making those comments.

I personally like my nick name, opposed to my real name, I think nicknames are COOL.

What are your thoughts on this subject? Oh, and what is your nickname?

Cheeky Kid
