It would expose tons of private information, including competitive business information, which could do great harm to you or your family. 2. Because you have political enemies who have shown they would create an entire 24/7 channel out of your tax returns droning on about shit they know nothing about, so they make up the biggest, nastiest lies they can and have a half dozen "experts" on criticizing you but never anyone representing the truth. 3. If anything in your tax return has not been examined and closed to examination, you have thousands of pairs of eyes who can look at them at will. I would never, ever allow a client to do that. I would fight such an unnecessary disclosure to a bitter end. Simply put, it is stupid. No taxpayer should ever do that. It is just stupid. If you have a substantial tax filing you don't do it. Ever.
