We live in a desert. I got some rain drops on my clothes when I walked to the store for dinner.

"Flash floods" happen in culverts and ravines which channel the rain water and dispossess the hapless people who might be camping there. The Park Rangers give them warnings to move.

Southern California has received a normal amount of rain this year. But California from Santa Barbara and further north are still experiencing an unusually dry year.
