I think IOM hit it right on! Though the stock is down a ton, I see people are opting to buy the sub-1000$ computers that have smaller low cost hard drives. If this is the case, there will be many who will opt to buy a ZIP external drive for 99 bucks! The market for the ZIP could take-off for these customers. Even now, when you buy a sub-1000$ computer, it comes with 1.5 Gigs of pre-loaded software! These people are not going to spend the money for a re-writable CD rom, nor do they want to try to install it themselves. I think this LARGE market will still buy a ZIP or ZIP+ for some time to come. Does anyone know how many sub-1000$ computers have been sold lately? Tons I bet! This is our largest target market, and this seems to be the market that the ads will go after! I still like the potential, just hope they lower the price to get the market. The higher end market is already putting ZIP-BUILT-IN in their puters, just like my XKE-266 from Micron! This could really be interesing! Bought more today, just another IOMEGAN looking for the long haul....Another note, our comptetion does not have the manufacturing capability to produce the volume necessary to become the standard, IOM can handle 20 million drives a year, and I hope too see news they can handle more some time soon. I do see that IOM was smart enough to sub-contract manufacturing (taking royalties on each drive and disc) and they let them offer their own OEM contracting! The bad news is the stock is down and it was manipulated to these low levels. I'm not even going to watch the aftermath next week. Staying long on a profitable company! Should bounce around for the next 3 months. Kinda stupid if you ask me! Down 30% on a 2 cent shortfall! Just makes you want to get out of this damn market altogether!
