The rules to the Senate are a PDF file and I showed you what to search for to get it. That's not even in the same time zone as an argument. Offer up the language of those rules that support your position. The idea that McConnell can choose to not do a trial is a lie. The idea that they can simply vote to acquit without a trial is again untrue. Actually, it appears they can. However, disgusting it is. And I certainly don't expect he will go that route. I expect him to do a "trial" but cut it very short. As for the word "acquit", it's going to get thrown around a lot. I see you've found him guilty, as have I. But there is a formal process that's labeled acquittal. Whether that requires a trial or not, you would have to find some text to argue that. Btw, you're not going to take the smile off my face this morning. I wouldn't have voted again if this bastard wasn't impeached. What took so long? Well, good for you. As for me, I'm pleased that Trump will forever carry the "impeached" asterik. And that one branch of congress declared, very clearly, that his behavior in the Ukraine moment, was impeachable. And I wish they had poured more items into the impeachment charges. That would show just how corrupt and unacceptable he is. As for how long it took, I'm, at least for the moment, going with Pelosi's political wisdom.
