The H comes from electrolysis of water.
That's an even dumber idea.

Hydrolysis consumes tons of electricity. You waste a lot of energy by generating the hydrogen from water, only to then use hydrogen to generate electricity.

The only application here would be for energy storage, such as times when there is excess renewable energy from sources like solar and wind.

But that technology has been available for decades now. It has never been commercially viable because it's just efficient enough. (If it were, then there would be no need to improve our existing battery technology.)
