I agree, absolutely a farce - however, they didn't even charge Trump with bribery or quid pro quo. Some conservative pundits believe the Dems dropped that charge because the Repubs would have been able to counter with numerous examples where the Dems did the same and much worse (Joe Biden, ...).

Dems constructed a hail mary strategy that won't work. It is not necessary to obtain 67 votes in the Senate, only 2/3 of the voting senators. So, the plan is to convince a couple dozen Republican senators to sit out (not vote) and maybe get a few others to flip. Then, they could impeach the president with something like a 50 to 25 vote. However, if the Senate never schedules a final vote on the impeachment charges, the plan is doomed.

Inspector General's report is firing up the Repubs, some Indies and even a few Dems (Matt Taibbi - Rolling Stone, Glenn Greenwald).
Trump was right all along - the intelligence agencies did spy on his campaign.

Bloomberg is spending millions testing the waters but is getting zero traction.
When does Hillary announce that she is running?
