And that there don't appear to be any commonalities to base a conversation on. So be it. However, this one needs some work. We may be closer than you think.Regarding your statement that appears to suggest both sides are the same, you wrote, "Two points. I completely disagree that the Reps are now stacking the courts is because they are meaner, nastier than the Dems. You are simply asserting it; not arguing it. So I'll leave it as is." I consider that perfectly clear but can understand how it's a bit wobbly. Let me state it another way and let's see how it goes. I don't think the Reps are stacking the courts because they are meaner and nastier, at least not right now, with all the federal courts appointments. I assumed you meant those words much like they might apply to the Reps in the House--Jordan, Collins, et al. I don't see McConnell in that category. He's using his majority to stack the courts with hard right judges without, so far as I can tell, violating senate rules. I'm not certain whether he's violating senate norms. Let's say he's not, until something else is said. If so, he's just being shrewder, more cunning, certainly far less collegial, than the Dems. Where, by the way, is Schumer in these discussions about the structure of the impeachment process in the senate. Right now that strikes me as simply letting McConnell get away with being shrewder and more cunning. As for the general comment/observation that the Reps are meaner and nastier than the Dems, seems to me an apt description since Gingrich took control of the House in the mid 90s.
