If the inventory is in the channel but not yet sold, it would still be accounted for as
inventory , wouldn't it.

I know this was not directed at me. However, that is correct.

Backlog is not shown on a financial statement.

Finally, the accounting of inventory in channel depends slightly if the channel is a VAR that cannot return the product.
