In the US v Nixon case, a special prosecutor subpoenaed the tapes. He SP worked for Congress. In this impeachment Congress subpoenaed witnesses and documents which were never turned over. It's the exact same thing. Republicans are going against a unanimous Supreme Court ruling. One of their experts said Congress should wait for the courts to decide, but the Courts already decided this issues. Congress doesn't need the courts since it has the sole power to impeach but we have both, the power and a unanimous ruling from the Supreme Court against withholding evidence from Congress.
